Thanks to Perfect pandas for reminding me.
The Atlanta Zoo is due to release the name of their new cub today at 11:30 EST. Which by my poor maths is around 16:30 here in the UK. I'll post his name as soon as I find out, as I will be travelling from work at that time. If you're on the M62 please keep it clear for me. :)

This is the last picture from Chengdu, the other pandas were bored of playing so this little one was playing on his own and rolling around whilst munching on some bamboo. Tomorrow we will we be headed to Bifengxia.
I have been contacted by Jérôme over at pandas.fr It seems that he too likes our favourite animal the panda and has a web-site for them. What makes it different from my site is that it is written in French (It's been way too many years since I did any French). It seems to be full of useful information and news stories. So if you can read French then follow the Reference below.
This is just more of the cubs playing in Chengdu. It's a pity you can't post videos as I have a great video of the cubs playing, with one of the little ones doing roly-polys.
The rest of the toddlers were watching the two playing on the slide and they all decided to join in. I was watching these cubs for a long time, they just kept making me laugh.
Over at the San Diego Zoo the pandas will be putting up their stockings for treats and toys from Santa Claus (Along with the other animals San Diego look after). If you would like to buy a present follow the link below to see the wish list for all the animals.
This continues on from yesterdays post, the little one is trying to free itself because it obviously wants to finish the play fight but the other one got bored and wondered off.
A lecture chaired by Professor Allan Gilloran with speakers David Windmill, Iain Valentine and Stephen Woodllard will discuss the Giant Panda and their fragility in the bamboo forest. Will be help on March 27th 2009 at 1:30 pm in Edinburgh, Scotland.

These two now started play fighting over the slide but didn't last very long as this little one got a bit stuck on the banister and the other one got bored and wonder up off the slide.
As promised, this was the reaction of the little one after he'd been down the slide, i'm not sure what he made of it, but he went back for more!
The third phase of the renovations at the Chengdu Panda Research Base is expected to be opened to the public on early January 2009.
This includes public walks around the new kindergarten The kindergarten is designed to look like it is made from bamboo. The new museum is already completed.
