When you reach the panda enclosure you are greeted by large cutout pictures of the pandas Longhui and Weiwei. When we first got there there was no sign of any pandas as they were inside and the building was closed to visitors due to Fulong only just being born. I had terrible thoughts that the only pandas we were going to see were of these wooden ones.

Most of the areas in Vienna have a bronze statute representing the type of animal that lives in that part of the zoo. Here is the panda one, which I think was adorable. If you look in the background you should just be able to see Longhui

When we visited Fulong was only a couple of months old, I don't think that he even had a name. We could only see him on a TV screen outside, Most of the time he was cuddeled up underneath mummy (Weiwei). I managed to get a couple of photos with him on the screen.

I don't usually write about items you can buy with pandas on them but I just have to show you this watch.

"Vulcain will produce 30 examples of "The Pandas" Aviator GMT watch in both rose and white gold; the cloisonne dial tastefully displays the individual number of each watch. A strap in Louisiana alligator leather and an 18K gold ardillon buckle is standard. The timepiece has a sapphire crystal, and is water resistant to 100 meters."

That thing is going to cost a fortune. Though my birthday is coming up if anyone would like to buy me it.

Wolong Panda Club is asking for more people and groups to adopt a panda. Of the 14 Panda cubs born last year at the Bifengxia research centre only 2 so far have been adopted. It costs around $6,000 to adopt a club.

Lets see if we can some money to adopts one. There is a donate button in the sidebar now, which will whisk you away to paypal to donate. I know times are hard but even a little will help us help pandas. Please ask your friends and family to donate aswell

When we first saw Longhui it didn't seem very happy he wanted to go back inside but he was kept outside whilst they were cleaning it. When we stayed around watching him till he was let back inside then we looked round the rest of the zoo.
