    The Born Free Foundation is calling on the UK's Prime Minister and Edinburgh Zoo to focus on real conservation of giant pandas in their natural habitat, and leave panda diplomacy in the history books.

    The Hong Kong Government and the Chinese Government has come to an agreeement for Hong Kong to provide help rebuild the Wolong Panda Breeding Centre after it was badly hit during the May 12th Earthquake.

    Hong Kong will provide help on a project by project basis over the next few years. Hong Kong will ask Ocean Park and other organizations for their help in rebuilding.

    Zoo officials are keeping a close eye on Lun lun at Atlanta Zoo, in case she might be pregnant. Zoo Atlanta officials artificially inseminated her in April and is now due.

    Lets hope so.

    Over a million people have been to Beijing zoo to visit the 8 Olympic pandas and the Olympics haven't even started yet. The pandas seem to take it all in their stride though.

    4 Cubs with-in 14 hours, that must be some kind of record.

    A pair of female twins to Qiyuan, and a single cub each to Chenggong and Zhuzhu all at Chengdu

    It looks like a panda cub that was born on the 13th of July to Ying ying, went without me noticing. Though Performing a google search didn't bring show him / her up.

    So now we have 5 Panda Cubs this year.
    I will update the Pandas Born in 2008 post.

    Susan Langa sent us an Email about the missing Panda, (Many thanks Susan), she sent me the Press release, I have managed to find it on the Wolong Panda Club, website and added it to the References.

    Another 13 pandas have been moved to Bifengxia from the Wolong Panda Breeding Centre, Leaving only 7 one year olds at the Centre. The one year olds will remain at Wolong, where they will be looked after the keepers. They are the hope for the rebuilding of the Wolong Panda Breeding centre.

    Longxin originally from the Wolong Panda Breeding Centre has given birth to twins at Bifengxia. Mother and babies are doing well.

    The news report claims that five cubs have been born so far, 2 sets of twins (Guoguo &Longxin ) and a single cub. Has anyone seen a report about the single cub?

    The surviving panda of a set of twins born at a zoo in Amsterdam who were rejected by their mother and then adopted by a cat has died. A postmortem has been done and it looks like the red panda chocked to death, as it's throat was full of milk.

    Si Jia (思嘉), Qian Qian (芊芊) and Mei Qian (美茜) were moved from the Wolong Panda Breeding Centre, On July 26th to Yunnan Wild Animal Zoo due to the quake on May 12th.
