The Giant Panda at Zoo Atlanta is expecting a cub, which experts think will be delivered in the next 5 - 10 days.

If Lun Lun goes full term then this cub will be Lun Lun's third. Her first cub Mei Lan was sent to Chungdu in China earlier this year, and Xi Lan, Lun Lun's first currently still lives near by to Lun Lun and father to all 3 pandas Yang Yang.

Lets hope that Lun Lun gives birth to a healthy cub soon.

If you are reading this story then the transfer of PandaNews went without a hitch.

I have been having a lot of problems with the old hosting provider's system being too slow and getting lots or errors whilst trying to administrate the site, so I've decided to move the site to another provider.

Hopefully this means a much better experience for you when using the site.

If you notice any problems please let me know at andi@pandanews.org

I'm sorry I've not posted any stories recently.

Work is insanely busy, and my father in law passed away. Then after all that we decided that we needed a little time away to relax. So we had a weeks holiday.

I have a few storied to write up, I'm going to make some time over the weekend and make an effort to get up to date.

    Thanks again for your understanding.

The Chengdu Panda Research Centre is celebrating another birth. Ya Ya a 20 year old Giant Panda gave birth on the 10th of September 2010 to a female cub.

Ya Ya has given birth to 13 Cubs in 9 Litters of which 12 survived. She really is a super mum.

This year the pandas at Chengdu have given birth to 7 Panda Cubs, whilst last year they only gave birth to 4 cubs. Which the research centre said was due to the mothers being exhausted.

It is now reported that Chengdu now has 90 Giant Pandas housed there.

Once again well done to Ya Ya and all the staff at Chengdu.
