CCRCGP helds a Thank you Ceremony for Yunnan. The ceremony is held near the gates of Yunnan Wildlife Park.
The ceremony is opened with a lion dance, then 26 children from Kumming Boai Rehabilitation centre for hearing impared and 26 actors sing the theme song of "Thanks Tourism Love is the most beautiful". 26 Children and actors were chosen as this represents Yunnan's 26 nationalities and the 26 Giant Pandas fostered out after the quake.
Mr Wang Pengyan, deputy directory of Wolong National Natural Reserve and China Conservation and research Centre for the Giant Panda, thanked the Yunnan people for what they did for Wolong, and presents them with gifts:
The soil and water of Wolong, a scroll painting of pandas, the palm prints of the 13 Pandas born in 2008.
Yunnan Wildlife Park sends camellia (Kunming's city flower), Sample of peacock blue, a scroll with citizens' signatures in return.
The Ceremony also announces the name of Bai Xue's first cub named by the people of Kunming.
Her name? "Zhuang Zhuang".
