Panda Care to be Standardised

For the past nearly 30 years, experts from around the world had been gathering vital information for the continuing success of the panda breeding program.

This information will be brought together to form a standard in panda care. Which all zoos and research centres in China will follow, the information will also be provided to foreign zoos to provide them with guidance in caring for the animals in their charge.

With a current population of 268 breeding giant pandas in China, and a population growth of around 20 panda cubs a year. The sustainable captive panda population is only 6 to 8 years away.
