March 9th 2010 Tai Shan the darling from the National Zoo, Washington DC, America has left quarantine with a clean bill of health and moved in to his new home.

His lifelong adoptee Sichuan Automobile Group Co held a grand ceremony to welcome Tai Shan. Tai Shan has increased his weight whilst in quarantine from 87 kg to 90 kg, and has become very fond of Wotou (panda bread), he is not a picky eater and enjoys many varieties of bamboo including White Pod Bamboo, Thorny Bamboo, Tintin Bamboo.

He was looked after by Geli Fu Shou, who had to wear protective clothing, whilst seeing to Tai Shan, equipment was regularly disinfected to insure Tai Shan and the other pandas at Bifengxia a good health.

Tai Shan's feces and urine was sampled everyday by a full time veterinarian (Wang Cheng-dong).
